SOST Achievements 

The Sudanese Orphans Support Trust has been active since 2002 right after its registration in the Dutch chamber of the commerce in the Hague (Kamer van koophandel KvK).  Most of its activities have been geared towards raising funds for Sudanese refugees Orphans in Uganda and the displaced in the Sudan.  It is also involved in awareness raising about the situation of the children, women and in particular the Sudanese Orphans  among the Dutch community.

Vocational training programs in Africa
·
                     2003 - 2004    Training of five (5) youth in vocational school, Moyo technical School
·
                     2004 - 2004    Training of another five (5) youth in vocational school, Moyo technical
              school

The first batch was sponsored by a grant from Cordaid.
The group consist of five (5) students, with three (3) enrolled in the field of auto mechanic and two (2) in building and construction and concrete practices. The second batch is sponsored by grant from novib.  This group consist of five (5), two (2) girls and three (3) boys enrolled in the fields of electro technique, auto mechanic and building and construction and concrete practices.
SOST is planning to train up to
forty (40) students by the year 2008.  There are already plans to build a workshop for the graduates so that they can become self-reliant and could also contribute and be contracted in the reconstruction and rebuilding of the Sudan in the post war

Planned activities for the year 2005

                     Going to more schools and churches in Rhoon and Poortugaal in Rotterdam
·
                     Organizing activities in the two areas, in which there will be drama, singing, traditional
              dance and preparing Sudanese food for sale.  There is also going to be exhibition of
              children photos and crafts from Sudan.
